On August 17th, the official YouTube channel of Legends of Runeterra announced the champion card named Caitlyn. Just like previous new card introductions, this video provides players with information such as stats, effects, and basic gameplay of Caitlyn in Legends of Runeterra.
The highlight of the video is Caitlyn’s stunning new background. It resembles a crime scene plan by Caitlyn and accurately represents her title as “Piltover Sheriff.” Compared to Caitlyn’s current background in League of Legends, the version in Legends of Runeterra is clearly superior. As a result, the community has voiced their demands for Riot Games to upgrade Caitlyn’s visuals, even requesting that the aforementioned background be brought into League of Legends.

Caitlyn’s background in Legends of Runeterra makes me wish it actually appeared in League of Legends.
Alright, Legends of Runeterra just introduced a new champion, and that is Caitlyn. Personally, I don’t like Caitlyn that much. The reason is quite simple, Caitlyn’s gameplay is very fun and definitely worth learning. However, her character’s personality and design are too “gentle,” lacking highlights and focusing solely on introducing her age.
And now we have Caitlyn’s new background, which is truly amazing. Not only does it show her loyalty through the initial design, but Riot also makes this character look like a true detective. She still maintains the “steampunk” appearance but makes people believe that she is indeed a real officer in Piltover. Caitlyn’s current background in League of Legends isn’t too bad, but it fails to reflect the character’s personality or storyline, and it needs an upgrade. She looks like Sasha Grey with a shotgun then.
I believe that Caitlyn’s new appearance in Legends of Runeterra is far superior to her current background in League of Legends. If Riot intends to update the visuals for Caitlyn, then the background mentioned above would be a perfect upgrade for this character. Ultimately, the upgraded background of Caitlyn makes us feel like she transitions from a regular officer to a special detective.

When they finally upgrade Caitlyn’s visuals, I hope she will look like the version in Legends of Runeterra.
I hope so too. Some old champions in League of Legends have had extremely good adjustments in Legends of Runeterra. For example, Ashe gets a fur outfit when she levels up to keep warm. I just hope that Legends of Runeterra’s design approach will be applied by Riot for future updates.
The fact that League of Legends: Wild Rift updated Janna’s skins is also a huge upgrade that I want to see in League of Legends. I hope Caitlyn’s new background is a sign of good things to come in the future.

With a game that has been developing for over 10 years like League of Legends, it’s understandable that older champions gradually become outdated in terms of skills and appearance. Therefore, remakes and effect upgrades are essential to make these characters more appealing to players and maintain diversity in League of Legends.
In Caitlyn’s case, this champion has undergone a significant gameplay update that has made her much stronger. However, Caitlyn’s basic background does not match the storyline that this character possesses. There is truly no sheriff that wears a short skirt, flaunting a voluptuous figure like Caitlyn’s basic background. If Riot were to bring Caitlyn’s background and model from Legends of Runeterra into League of Legends, it would be an excellent upgrade for this character.
