With so many players around the world committed to League of Legends, the game’s queue times are usually very short. Typically, the queue time for normal mode is under 1 minute. For solo ranked mode, players spend around 3-5 minutes waiting to find a match, depending on their rank. Even for players ranked Master – Challenger, the queue time is usually only around 10-15 minutes.

However, a player recently discovered that the longest possible queue time for League of Legends is 6476 minutes and 35 seconds. This story began when a player nicknamed RagingRocket queued for a normal draft game on the EUNE server on August 28. After about 20 minutes of waiting without getting into a match, he sent a screenshot to his friends, saying it was the longest queue he had ever experienced.

When RagingRocket’s waiting time exceeded 60 minutes, he realized he would not be able to find a match this way. However, RagingRocket decided not to leave the queue and wanted to test the limits of the League of Legends client by continuing to let the queue time pass. He even left his computer rig and went to sleep while the queue time kept increasing.

As a result, after more than 4 days, RagingRocket’s queue time ended at 6476 minutes and 35 seconds when the League of Legends client automatically prompted him to log back in. Sharing on Reddit, RagingRocket mentioned that he intended to wait until the queue time reached 10,000 minutes to take a screenshot for memories. However, the League of Legends client did not allow this to happen.

RagingRocket’s experiment shows that very few League of Legends players pay attention to the draft pick mode. The only reason explaining the excessively long wait time is that no one is queuing for this mode. Perhaps Riot should consider removing this game mode from the League of Legends client on the servers they manage.
