If you remember, when he was first reworked, Pantheon was one of the strongest champions in League of Legends, boasting a 100% ban rate at the 2019 World Championship. Even when the 2020 World Championship rolled around a year later, Pantheon remained a powerful and versatile champion that could be played in multiple roles including Mid Lane, Jungle, and Support.

However, after Riot Games updated all the items in the shop, Pantheon gradually fell into obscurity as other champions in his role became significantly stronger. Perhaps Riot Games realized they needed to help Pantheon secure a solid position in League of Legends, which is why they are looking to buff this character in the upcoming patch 12.14.
Specifically, according to information from the test server, the enhanced damage from Pantheon’s Q – Comet Spear when dealing damage to jungle monsters will increase from 70% to 120%. This change will allow Pantheon to clear the jungle extremely quickly and leverage his crowd control ability to attack opponents early on.

Furthermore, the aforementioned enhanced damage will only apply to jungle monsters, so players will not be able to exploit this power-up for Pantheon in the lane. Clearly, this is the right direction for Riot as Pantheon is quite suited for the Jungle role due to his consistent damage output, crowd control, and good long-range engagement skills. If they increase Panton’s laning capabilities, he could easily become too strong again, just like during the 2019 World Championship.

In addition to the changes to Pantheon, Riot has another notable adjustment: reverting the cooldown of the Teleport spell back to its old state (instead of 7 minutes as it was a few days ago). They also reduced the power of several items that were being overly abused, particularly the Sunfire Aegis on damage champions like Yone and Bel’Veth. Patch 12.14 is expected to be released on July 27th.
