It is undeniable that Riot Games has made significant efforts to upgrade the gameplay of League of Legends. With the release of new champions, elemental map mechanics, and many other changes, League of Legends still offers plenty of new things for players to explore. However, the development of the gameplay does not correspond at all with the client, which is showing severe signs of deterioration.

There are many frustrating issues for players such as the client’s processing speed being too slow, repeatedly clicking but unable to save runes, and being unable to select desired skins… These are clear signs of a declining client. Not to mention the cases of game crashes and constant disconnections, whether players have strong or weak computers, leading to complaints like “When will the client be fixed? When will it be repaired?”.

Even Faker experiences such serious bugs, we understand the problem now

Finally, we have received a response from Riot Games announcing the “Client Cleanup” campaign with the sole goal of fixing the League of Legends client.

Statement from Riot Games: “In the next 6 months, we will implement many changes and upgrades for the League of Legends client. To track this process, we will share two main goals: Speeding up client startup and increasing champion lock time. During this process, we will also look for ways to fix bugs and game crashes. The simple goal is to fix the client.

Riot, when will you finally fix the client?

This is a question many gamers are asking. Currently, the client is not in a good state. There are too many bugs, too much lag (especially when selecting champions), and many other issues like memory leaks, game crashes, and freezes… We have decided that something must be done with the client, but the problem still persists.

The two main priorities for Riot will be

Reducing the client startup speed to just 15 seconds instead of being 3 to 4 times slower than it currently is.

The champion lock speed will increase to 100ms for 90% of players, which is 8 times faster than the current speed.”

According to Riot Cactopus, the author of the announcement, Riot Games will aim to fix the League of Legends client even on low-end computers, ensuring that everyone can play League of Legends as smoothly as possible. From what has been shared, issues related to runes, game disconnections, and black screens will be prioritized later; if the two main goals are achieved, most of the client bugs will be fixed as well.

Hope this situation is no longer present

This is a necessary step for Riot Games, as in the past few months they have focused too much on ingame updates of League of Legends while neglecting the client. Of course, at some point where the game interface cannot even load the game, issues like bugs, game crashes, and black screens will occur. If everything goes according to plan, we should be able to play League of Legends much more smoothly, at the latest within 6 months.
