The year 2021 will mark significant milestones for the development trajectory of League of Legends, as their new champions will have a close connection within a specific storyline related to the events surrounding the Shadow Isles.
Starting with Senna in 2019, followed by Viego and Gwen, the upcoming champions in League of Legends will all have ties to this trio and will have special interactions with each other. In other words, 2021 will be a time when Riot’s release schedule for new champions will differ from the norm, as it will accompany the journey of building a grand storyline within the League of Legends universe. One of the next champions hinted at after Gwen’s release is a traditional mage from the Yordle race.

According to Riot’s description, this champion has a rather “grumpy” appearance, is a mage with a relatively “classic” skill set, lacking many breakthroughs in skill mechanics, but will diversify this character class. Players will have a new option in the mid-lane position instead of similar playstyles that have become somewhat stale due to their long presence in Summoner’s Rift, such as Orianna, Syndra…
Recently, a Twitter channel unexpectedly shared images believed to be the design of this champion – A grumpy female Yordle with a cloak (or hair) that seems to have its own life. In fact, this Yordle mage has been completed by Riot, but they later announced a delay in its release due to the need to refine the storyline. Therefore, the leak of this champion’s design is entirely possible.

As mentioned above, since the Yordle mage has been confirmed by Riot to be delayed, it is likely that the 156th position in the roster of League of Legends will belong to another character – A marksman with a storyline closely related to Lucian and Senna.
Unlike other “half-baked” solo lane marksmen (not intended for solo lane) like Tristana, Lucian, Quinn, or Vayne, this new marksman will possess a skill set specifically designed for the solo lane, and based on the revealed image of their weapon (or her), a grappling hook, this will certainly be a highly mobile marksman.

Mobility is also the reason many players can confidently bring Tristana or Lucian to the mid-lane. However, once Riot has focused on this aspect to create a champion specifically for the solo lane, the transformative gameplay of that champion will certainly be enhanced, compensating for the inherent weakness of the marksman class.
An image believed to be the design of this champion was also revealed alongside the Yordle mage, and looking at this design, many have immediately associated it with a marksman version of Camille, with the ability to “swing” and a skill set that interacts strongly with terrain.

In terms of storyline, the new marksman in League of Legends is said to be a member of the Sentinels of Light and will play a role as an ally to the duo Lucian – Senna in the battle against Viego. This information completely aligns with what Riot has previously announced, that all new champions released in 2021 will have close ties to the storyline of the Ruined King.
