League of Legends Cheating Unexpectedly Takes a “New Height” Leaving Riot Games Astonished

Riot Games may need to consider implementing more effective anti-cheat measures for League of Legends.

Cheating in League of Legends, in any form, is met with fierce opposition from the community. After all, League of Legends is a game that allows players to showcase their individual skills. This becomes meaningless when gamers, no matter how skilled they are, face defeat against cheaters.

After a series of efforts from Riot Games, the public cheating has become less common. However, the League of Legends community was recently astonished to discover that “hack and cheat” software has “reached a new height.” It can even create entirely new features within the League of Legends client, something that seemed exclusive to Riot Games.

The story began when streamers and Challenger players on the Western European server discovered accounts showing signs of cheating. According to streamer Kerberos, he even received images of the cheating software directly from these malicious players. The cheating player revealed that he had played over 2000 matches using third-party software without getting his account banned.

What’s alarming is that this cheating software even creates a “crash lobby” feature that disconnects the game when champion selection occurs. This feature allows cheaters to exit the match without losing ranking points or facing any penalties. Moreover, this software also provides comprehensive information about teammates and opponents directly linking to their Op.gg or U.gg pages.

It is important to note that Riot Games has hidden all this information for a long time, making this a clear violation. Clearly, to create the aforementioned features, these hackers have deeply interfered with the League of Legends client. This is truly dangerous as it could expose ways to “hack” player accounts and information.

Perhaps it's time for Riot to implement Riot Vanguard from VALORANT into League of Legends to eliminate these cheaters

Currently, Riot Games is applying a quite effective anti-cheat tool called Riot Vanguard for the game VALORANT. It may be time for Riot Games to consider applying Riot Vanguard to League of Legends to prevent such cheating from occurring again.
