As of now, the LPL Spring 2024 has entered its 6th week of competition with a significant dominance from Bilibili Gaming (BLG). With their victory over Team WE, BLG is currently leading the tournament with a record of 9 wins – 1 loss. Additionally, BLG has created a gap of 2 wins over the teams behind them. It wouldn’t be surprising if BLG maintains its leading position until the end of the LPL Spring 2024 group stage.

However, the recent victory against WE has led to more criticism than praise from the audience. The reason is that fans and media in the LPL believe that BLG’s gameplay is too unconvincing, and they stand little chance of defeating T1 led by Faker. It seems that BLG is currently under a lot of pressure as they sit at the top of the LPL Spring 2024 standings.

Upon reviewing the match between BLG and WE, viewers can understand the reasoning behind the aforementioned criticisms. With the strength of the top team, BLG should have demonstrated dominance over WE and quickly finished them off. However, it was WE that appeared to be superior for most of the game, continuously taking control of the Baron and putting significant pressure on BLG.

Meanwhile, BLG seemed too passive and chose a “turtle” playstyle with Smolder as the key player in Elk’s hands. This passivity almost cost BLG dearly as WE played extremely well in the early and mid-game, punishing the opponent’s major mistakes. If it weren’t for Elk’s excellence in the late game, BLG would likely have suffered a defeat against WE.

As for T1, Faker and his teammates have shown that they are a well-rounded team and can exploit advantages very well in their recent matches in the LCK. It’s worth noting that they are currently on an 11-game winning streak and are sharing the top position in the LCK Spring 2024 with Gen.G. If they face T1 and allow this team to have the same advantages as in the match against WE, BLG’s chances of losing are quite high.

Perhaps the best way for BLG to silence those criticisms is to improve their gameplay and secure convincing victories in the future. Furthermore, they also need to consider researching and finding ways to counter T1 in the upcoming matches. Faker and his team will likely be the biggest opponents BLG needs to overcome if they want to claim an international title this year.
