T1 Shows Signs of Revival with Their Best Performance Since the Start of the 2025 Regular Seasons
After a less-than-successful LCK Cup 2025, T1 entered the 2025 Regular Seasons with high hopes. However, the ongoing staffing missteps continued to turn the reigning 2024 World Champion into an unstable team. They could lose to OKSavingsBank BRION or BNK FearX right after winning against Dplus KIA. But currently, T1 has achieved their best record since the beginning of the 2025 Regular Seasons: For the first time this season, T1 has secured 2 consecutive victories.
Of course, in both matches, T1’s opponents were not particularly strong. One was DN Freecs, who are at the bottom of the standings with a losing streak. Next was a KT Rolster that was even more unstable than T1. But importantly, T1 seems to be gradually finding the formula for better team performance.
Doran remains a part of the roster, but when supported by Oner, this player can play confidently and perform his role well. Moreover, when Faker is not heavily pressured, he can excel in both playmaking champions or damage-dealing champions that require farming. More importantly, in both matches, Oner showcased high performance. Meanwhile, Gumayusi seems to have overcome the psychological pressure of being a substitute, allowing him to free Keria from the AD-protecting Support role and return to a roaming gank playstyle across the map.
More importantly, T1’s players have somewhat shown their ability to coordinate smoothly again. In both matches, although there were still moments of misalignment, compared to their losses against FOX or BRO, these are positive signals.
But perhaps T1 should aim for a more attainable goal – a spot at the Worlds
Compared to the Worlds, MSI 2025 is clearly a bit too much for T1. They are showing signs of revival, but both HLE and Gen.G are racing ahead. And perhaps, only unexpected events or the players from these two teams “tripping over” could create new opportunities for T1.
Instead, Faker and his teammates should focus on securing a spot at the 2025 Worlds as well as the biggest title in the LCK at the end of the season. These are more attainable goals, considering T1 has lagged behind those two “giants” for too long.
