In recent years, despite not being particularly successful in terms of titles, Faker has still been regarded as one of the top Mid Laners in the world. The influence of the “Demon King” on T1’s gameplay and operations is incredibly significant. A prime example is when Faker was sidelined due to injury, T1 faced a series of defeats in the LCK Summer 2023.

However, the recent assessment by LCK fans regarding Mid Laners in general, and Faker specifically, has caused quite a surprise. Specifically, LCK fans scored the players, and the results showed that Faker ranked fifth, behind Chovy, Knight, Scout, and Bdd.

The fact that Faker scored lower than both Scout and Bdd is considered the “most unreasonable” aspect of this voting outcome. The reason is that although he did not win the championship, Faker and T1 still finished as runners-up in both the LCK Spring and Summer 2023. Meanwhile, both Scout and Bdd did not perform well in the Spring split and only improved in the Summer. In fact, when entering the Playoffs, Bdd’s KT Rolster was completely defeated by T1 in both matchups, even though KT chose T1 as their opponent.

Even Chovy’s position above Faker raises many questions. It’s true that Chovy recently won the LCK Summer 2023 with Gen.G, but this player has a “tradition” of underperforming in international tournaments. Even at MSI 2023, Faker’s T1 finished above Gen.G, achieving third place.

Of course, the above voting results should only be considered a reference. Who knows, Faker and T1 may put on impressive performances at the upcoming Worlds 2023 to prove that the evaluations of the “Demon King” are completely mistaken.
