After the conclusion of MSI 2024, fans have gained a more accurate understanding of the strengths of major teams around the world. Notably, representatives from LCK and LPL such as T1, Gen.G, and BLG have showcased impressive strength at the recent MSI 2024. It would not be surprising if these three names emerged as top contenders for this year’s World Championship title.

Recently, the Korean forum Fomos announced a list of the top 10 teams in League of Legends as voted by its members. It comes as no surprise that Gen.G, BLG, and T1 occupy the top spots on this list. In fact, Gen.G has a dominating score (1937) compared to BLG’s second place (1790).

However, the fourth position in this ranking has caused outrage among LPL fans as HLE is ranked above TES. Moreover, many viewers pointed out that G2’s position is extremely unreasonable. The first seed from the LEC region performed impressively at MSI 2024, making it difficult to understand why G2 is placed below TES or HLE.

Fairly speaking, TES had a “disastrous” MSI 2024, finishing in 6th place. Furthermore, this team was embarrassingly eliminated on home soil after losing to G2 0-3 in the lower bracket. However, they remain the runner-up of LPL Spring 2024, so LPL fans have valid reasons to oppose the LCK fans’ ranking of TES below HLE (a team that didn’t even qualify for MSI 2024).

Additionally, ranking G2 in 6th place is another point of contention. As mentioned earlier, G2 decisively defeated TES, so they deserve to be ranked above the LPL representative. It’s likely that LCK fans have shown a certain bias towards HLE, resulting in them ranking this team much higher than they should be.

Of course, the aforementioned rankings should only be taken as a reference and do not comprehensively assess the strengths of the teams. Teams like TES, G2, or even JDG and NiP could completely have a breakout summer season and make LCK fans “offside” for underestimating them.
