LCK Fans Ignite Battle Over T1
As is known, after the recent match between T1 and Gen.G, while Faker continues to cause concern among many T1 fans regarding his situation, a segment of irresponsible viewers has continued to “terrorize” the spirits of the players by sending condolence wreaths to the T1 gaming house, specifically targeting coach KkOma and Gumayusi. This act has been condemned by both LCK and T1 fans, and according to investigations by netizens, the authors of these wreaths are Faker’s die-hard fans. However, there has yet to be any verification, and T1 has not commented, leaving everything in suspicion. Yet, shortly after, another “battle” broke out.

Why Are T1 Fans Doing This?
Specifically, on August 8, new wreaths were sent to T1, but this time they were bright red. According to information from the LCK online community, these wreaths are a cultural gesture from Korea, aimed at cheering on the players for the remainder of the 2024 season. At the same time, the wreaths were sent to counter the negatively connoted condolence wreaths sent earlier. This inadvertently turned the area in front of the T1 building into a real battleground between the team’s fans.

Additionally, many viewers argue that whether they are die-hard fans or casual supporters, they should allow the players some time to rest, especially Faker. According to some arguments, the pressure the players are under is already immense. And the debates, whether verbal or through actions of sending flowers, regardless of their negative or positive intent, could still affect the players’ mental state during this crucial upcoming phase.

– “Stop this and let the players practice and compete”
– “Condolence wreaths were sent first, then came the colorful flowers. There were more congratulatory wreaths sent afterwards”
– “Why does Guma have to endure this? This has been happening for 3 years now for Guma”
At the moment, T1 is only two wins away from the LCK Summer 2024 playoffs. With their current position still at 4th, coupled with KT Rolster’s recent defeat against Kwangdong Freecs, the likelihood of T1 securing a spot in the next round is quite possible, especially as KT is unlikely to create any surprises against Gen.G in their previous match while KDF and FOX will have to face each other on August 10.
