A series of major teams in the LCK face challenges in the opening week of the 2025 Regular Seasons
Only a few days left, the 2025 Regular Seasons will officially return with a series of matches promising to be extremely exciting. Meeting the expectations of fans, after the successful experimental LCK Cup 2025, the LCK organizers and Riot have decided to widely apply the Fearless Draft for all remaining tournaments in 2025. In addition, the endless drama surrounding T1 has many people looking forward to this team’s performance for the rest of the season.

However, it can be said that all three teams considered the strongest in the LCK right now, including Hanwha Life Esports (current LCK champion and First Stand), Gen.G (runner-up of the 2025 LCK Cup), and T1 (current World Championship champion) will have a rather difficult opening week. Among these three teams, perhaps only T1 will have a “breather” as among the two opponents, only Gen.G is evenly matched.
Meanwhile, both HLE and Gen.G are predicted to face many difficulties. HLE’s opponents will be Gen.G (in the opening match) and KT. Both of these teams are capable of competing for a spot at MSI 2025. Not to mention, Gen.G has never been a weak opponent, especially against HLE. In fact, Chovy and his teammates can be considered championship contenders.

For their part, Gen.G will also have a “very intense” schedule as their opponents in the opening week are HLE and T1. Since the 2024 World Championship, Gen.G has not been able to dominate T1 anymore. Moreover, in the last two finals that Gen.G participated in, HLE has defeated them.

T1’s challenges do not stem from external factors but from within this team itself. If T1 uses Gumayusi and returns to their familiar lineup, everything might still be fine. But if T1 continues to want to “collect data,” their chances of losing to Gen.G may be higher than usual. Even DRX could pose difficulties for an unstable T1 due to the pressure on the current players.
