At the start of the season, DWG KIA made a surprising transfer by signing top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha, a former member of T1. On the flip side, the player who put in an outstanding performance and played a significant role in DK’s victory at the 2020 World Championship – Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon, joined Khan’s former team FunPlus Phoenix in the LPL.
Khan’s impressive performance helped DK defend their LCK title. In the 3-0 victory over Gen.G Esports, Khan was voted MVP for his convincing display.

After winning the championship with DK, Khan had an interview with Korizon. In this interview, Khan cheerfully stated: “I want to face FPX at MSI 2021; I want to teach them a lesson. There’s nothing more exciting than ‘showing up’ your former teammates, especially Tian. I want to bully the kid a bit, but it’s okay, we’re close.”
However, when asked about Nuguri – Khan’s predecessor at DK, the “Great Khan” also mentioned: “But I’m also really scared of Nuguri; we’re both Korean, so Nuguri, let’s unite in friendship!”
Meanwhile, ShowMaker has also declared that he is ready to make his former teammate Nuguri “face the heat” if they meet at MSI 2021.
As for FPX, they are the first team to reach the LPL Spring 2021 finals and are in a great position to qualify for MSI. If Nuguri and Khan have the opportunity to face each other, it will be one of the most anticipated matchups between two of the best top laners in the world at the moment.
