No one can deny that Keria is one of the top Support players in the world of League of Legends today. Not only does he limit himself to covering for the ADC or executing orders from the captain (Faker), Keria also makes very creative plays and has often taken on the role of initiating plays. Of course, we cannot forget his diverse champion pool as a player born in 2002. The most unfortunate thing for Keria is that he has too few titles to match his talent.

However, Keria’s “bad luck with titles” is not due to his incompetence; rather, when it comes to crucial matches, both he and his teammates tend to underperform, even against opponents they are very familiar with and have defeated multiple times. For instance, in the LCK Spring 2023, Gen.G claimed the championship after defeating T1 just once in four encounters that season. The only catch is that Gen.G’s win was in the finals.

Recently, some statistics throughout LCK’s history have indicated that Summer is truly Keria’s “nemesis” rather than any opponent or champion. Since the Support, born in 2002, debuted with DragonX (2020) after being promoted from the Academy team, he has never won a title in Summer. In fact, in his very first Summer in LCK, the team that defeated Keria was… T1.

In the following years (2021, 2022, and 2023), Keria also never won a Summer championship, despite switching teams. Many fans jokingly suggest that perhaps before the Summer Split begins, T1 should give Keria some mental coaching to help him feel more at ease, or even consider “breaking the curse” for this player. After all, Keria is also the only player in LCK with this incredibly “unlucky” achievement.

Coming up, Keria will join the Korean League of Legends team for ASIAD 2022. Of course, in some aspects, this tournament, although taking place at the end of the year and not part of the League of Legends system, is still very close to the Summer Split. Many LCK fans hope that Keria’s “curse” will not reappear at the upcoming Asian Games and that he will do his best to bring home the gold medal for the Land of the Morning Calm.
