Thus, MSI 2024 has concluded and the teams that participated in Chengdu have gradually returned to their respective regions. The players need to rest and prepare for the upcoming Summer Split, which promises to be even more intense and dramatic, as this is the last domestic tournament of the year and will determine the tickets for the World Championship right after. With Gen.G winning MSI 2024, they have secured their spot for the 2024 World Championship on the simple condition that they make it to the playoffs of the upcoming Summer Split. However, for other teams, especially T1, they must strive not only for a spot at the World Championship 2024 but also for titles.

As known, during MSI 2024, T1 players were not in the best condition, both in terms of performance and the health of some members. In the case of Faker, he had to frequently rotate his wrist after each match, not just once but many times. Faker himself admitted that his injury has not fully healed. Therefore, many fans hoped that after MSI 2024, T1 players would have some time to rest. Especially since Faker has shown that he is an indispensable key player in the current T1 lineup.

Faker’s action of continuously rotating his right hand, though only for a brief moment, still worries fans

However, right after MSI 2024 concluded for T1, Gumayusi revealed some “bad news.” Specifically, the T1 marksman stated: “We went straight to MSI without any sufficiently long break after the LCK Spring Split. I think it will be a bit difficult for us to manage our conditions. Personally, my fingers really hurt. But there wasn’t much time (for MSI) so I ignored it and focused solely on competing.” Additionally, Gumayusi mentioned that the entire team would get a few days of rest to prepare for the Summer Split and possibly participate in the Esports World Cup. Gumayusi admitted: “If we play too much, then wrist or finger pain is completely normal and can occur.”

According to Gumayusi, they will return to Korea, take a short break, and then prepare for the Summer Split. T1 also has a schedule to participate in EWC 2024 in Saudi Arabia in July, making it very challenging physically and mentally for the upcoming Summer.

Thus, it can be understood that not only Faker but also Gumayusi (and possibly other players) have suffered injuries to some extent. Additionally, T1 must also be prepared for participating in EWC 2024 in Saudi Arabia during their break before the official start of LCK Summer 2024. This means that T1 will face a fairly packed schedule in the near future. For many fans, the injury of players like Faker and Gumayusi is undoubtedly bad news, especially since they are irreplaceable pillars who have just undergone a dense MSI schedule.

Currently, it is still unclear whether T1 will actually participate in EWC 2024. However, if the injuries of the players do not improve, it is very likely that the difficulties of last Summer will return. And this time, no one knows if T1 can slip through the narrow door again.
