Lux has always been loved by many players, with an easy-to-master and versatile skill set, players don’t spend too much time to master her. Moreover, the “pampering” of Riot Games with a series of stunning skins has also won the hearts of players who appreciate beauty and love to “show off” skins. Beautiful and not too weak, easy to understand, it’s no wonder Lux has never really been neglected.

However, the problem with this character is that she is not utilized much at high ranks, so Riot Games is always looking for ways to further buff her versatility to attract skilled players. The story has two sides, and at lower ranks, this champion is like a monster with massive damage, making it very difficult for Riot Games to implement buffs. Recently, they buffed this champion on the PBE server but decided not to apply it to the upcoming 10.8 patch.

Riot Mark Yetter: “A small announcement for patch 10.8”
Reversing the change for Tristana when E – Rocket Jump has its interaction ratio with AD reverted to the current number.
The changes for Lux will not be applied in the next patch.”
A player asked : “What changes are there for Lux?”.
Riot Mark Yetter: “There were some adjustments for Lux on the PBE server, we tried to buff the Support role without increasing her power in the mid lane. They are not ready to be implemented so they won’t appear in patch 10.8”.
Changes for Lux on the PBE server:
W – Prismatic Barrier: Energy cost increased from 60 to 70.

E – Lucent Singularity: Base damage increased from 60/105/150/195/240 to 60/110/160/210/260.
Interaction ratio with AP increased from 60% to 70%.

R – Final Spark: Interaction ratio with AP decreased from 100% to 80%.

It is easy to see Riot Games’ intention in these updates, they want to increase the wave clear ability for E – Lucent Singularity with both base damage and interaction with AP being increased. Meanwhile, the ultimate ability slightly reduces damage in the early game and increases it gradually in the late game, slightly reducing the ability to “burst” a target when Lux has many items.

However, this update focuses on the mid lane, where champions need to clear waves quickly and move strategically rather than Support as Riot intended. Perhaps that’s why they decided not to include this update for Lux in the upcoming patch 10.8; if the wave clear ability is overbuffed, who knows Lux might be abused by professional players in the mid lane.
