After their defeat at the 2023 World Championship, JD Gaming (JDG) has made significant personnel changes. Alongside retaining outstanding talents like Ruler, Kanavi, and Missing, the team has also recruited several notable names. The first is the return of Yagao, followed by two Top Laners, Flandre and Sheer.

While Flandre is familiar to fans as the 2021 World Champion, Sheer is a completely unknown name. It’s worth noting that this young player has been promoted directly to the main roster without ever playing in the LDL (the youth league in the LPL). As a result, many viewers are curious about this fresh 18-year-old talent.

Recently, Sheer had his first live appearance since joining JDG, garnering considerable attention. The player shared some interesting insights about his journey in getting acquainted with League of Legends and his decision to pursue a professional career.
“The first time I heard about professional League of Legends was at the end of 2017, when I watched that year’s World Championship finals. After that match, I idolized Ruler and was determined to become a player. So, starting in 2018 while I was still in fifth grade, I began to seriously get into and play League of Legends,” Sheer shared on air.

Viewers immediately noticed the inconsistency in the young player’s statements. If he was in fifth grade in 2018 (11 years old), then by 2024, Sheer would only be 17 years old. However, JDG has announced that Sheer was born in 2005 and is already 18. This discrepancy between JDG’s announcement and Sheer’s words has raised suspicions among the audience about whether the team has “falsified” the player’s age.

In the past, Riot Games has imposed severe penalties such as bans from competition and participation in Esports for players and management. If JDG has indeed “falsified” Sheer’s age, the team will undoubtedly face significant penalties. Currently, both the LPL and JDG have not made any announcements regarding this issue.
