LPL Fans Worry JDG is in for a “Freefall” in the 2025 Season
Alongside IG, JDG is one of the teams attracting a lot of attention during this year’s transfer window. The former MSI 2023 champions have brought in some incredibly noteworthy names like Scout, Peyz, and Xun from BLG. These are all top-tier players, some of whom have won the LCK/LPL, and Scout is even a former World Champion from 2021. Moreover, JDG’s new coach is a significant name, having recruited coach cvMax from KDF.

However, the new head coach of JDG has left even LPL fans concerned about the team’s future. This worry stems from cvMax’s relatively poor performance in recent years, as the teams he has led have struggled significantly. In the recently concluded 2024 season, cvMax’s highest achievement was a top 6 finish in the LCK Spring 2024 with KDF, and that team was eliminated shortly after. Therefore, many JDG fans are pessimistic, fearing that cvMax will lead the team into a “freefall” in the upcoming 2025 season.

Coach cvMax Needs to Prove Himself at JDG
Indeed, given cvMax’s performance in recent years, it’s understandable for JDG fans to be worried. Furthermore, in the past three years, cvMax has not coached any top-tier team in the LCK. Therefore, his experience competing on big stages and under high pressure is highly questioned by fans who have high hopes for JDG.

It should be noted that JDG’s goal for the upcoming 2025 season will certainly be to regain glory and titles (at least in the LPL region). Bringing in top stars like Xun, Scout, and Peyz is the clearest evidence of this. If coach cvMax does not have the strength to lead JDG, this team may face another disappointing year after a completely empty 2024 season and failing to qualify for the World Championship.

Fairly speaking, joining a major team like JDG is both a challenge and a significant opportunity for coach cvMax. This coach has a history of being famous for developing young players, having launched numerous notable names like Chovy, Viper, Lehends, and Kanavi during his time at Griffin. With his move to JDG, coach cvMax will have the chance to lead a very strong team and compete for regional titles in the upcoming 2025 season. If he succeeds in revitalizing JDG, all doubts cast upon him will disappear completely.
