After The Shy invented the top lane Kalista playstyle, it quickly went viral from Europe to Asia, with players of all ranks wanting to jump around with the Spear of Vengeance. Not only in the top lane, Kalista remains very strong in the traditional ADC role, having been buffed with stats like health and armor, allowing her to hold her lane better and rise to the top of the strongest ADCs currently.

It seems that the Kalista craze was so big that even a mid-laner like Faker, who has little connection to this champion, couldn’t resist. In his latest stream, Faker chose Kalista as an ADC and overall, he played quite well; his situational awareness and map movement were extremely impressive. However, when it came to utilizing the passive Martial Poise to jump over walls, Faker “failed” spectacularly, not just once but six times in a row.
In the video above, Faker repeatedly used his Q – Piercing Arrow to activate the passive and jump down to the pit, but the result was not as expected, and he could only exclaim: “Why can’t I jump over?” Indeed, while the Q does activate the passive, he accidentally used the A key (perhaps Faker has smart attack set up) in the same direction as the mouse pointer, causing his champion to receive the command to attack Baron and thus seek a path down to the Baron pit since Kalista doesn’t have that long of an attack range.

It seems that the number 7 is Faker’s lucky number, as on his seventh attempt to jump over the wall after Baron had died, he finally succeeded. This shows that even a top-tier player like Faker struggles to master this champion Kalista. She is one of the few champions that requires players to grasp the “rhythm” while controlling her; simply put, the more familiar you are, the more terrifyingly powerful Kalista becomes.
