Recently, some forums within the Vietnamese League of Legends community have reported circulating information that the team DRX is set to recruit 2 young Vietnamese players. Without needing to guess, it’s likely everyone understands that these names will join from the Challengers youth team if this deal turns out to be true. This information has a basis, especially since DRX previously made a recruitment post for the Challengers team aimed at gamers in Vietnam back in June 2022. Furthermore, this isn’t without precedent, as Tlong joined Fredit BRION and spent time competing for BRO’s Challengers team.

However, from Tlong’s case, many fans are understandably concerned. As previously mentioned, Tlong did not show much at BRO’s Challengers team and had to return home early. He later joined Team Whales but couldn’t compete for a position against Gloryy. In response to fans’ expectations, Tlong only disappointed by disappearing and subsequently TW parted ways with this player. Currently, Tlong has no new destination. And during a recent ranked match with Levi, it was evident that Tlong’s main issue is the most basic requirement of any player: his communication skills are extremely poor.

If this deal turns out to be true, the most important issue for the players will be their skills and the ability to communicate with their teammates. Korean ranked is currently the highest quality environment for players and demands very high skills. Additionally, communication will definitely face obstacles due to language barriers. These will be the biggest hurdles for players wanting to perform in a top-tier environment like the LCK. Tlong has not truly excelled in communication, and his skills are not exceptional when he hasn’t even reached the Master rank in Korea.

But of course, if they can go to the LCK to compete, it would be a great opportunity for development. Provided that the players must be genuinely serious and demonstrate that they are quality choices from VCS or at least be trusted by their management team and given the chance to prove themselves.
