HoL Faker Skin Exposes “Pay to Win”
In the history of League of Legends, Faker is perhaps recognized as the greatest player with an outstanding number of World Championship titles. Therefore, it makes sense for Riot Games to create a skin to honor the “Demon King,” but the way they executed it has previously faced fierce opposition from the community. Even at the time of the skin’s launch (HoL Ahri), this champion was boycotted by players due to its exorbitant price of $500 (5 million VND on the Vietnamese server).

After more than six months since its release, it was thought that the HoL skin for Faker would no longer face issues, but it has recently encountered trouble again. According to “bug master” Vandiril, the HoL Ahri skin currently has a serious bug that allows players to avoid the knockback effect from the explosive seed. Simply activating Faker’s emote with the key combination Ctrl + 5 at the right moment when the explosive seed is cast will prevent players from changing positions.
Not stopping there, this method also helps players escape from Thresh’s lantern even after clicking on the W ability that this champion creates. Notably, other skins of Ahri do not experience this bug, indicating that the issue only arises from the HoL Faker skin. With this immunity to knockback, players can chase opponents much easier when they try to use the explosive seed to flee. This has led many players to sadly label the HoL Ahri skin of Faker as “pay to win.”

Community Wants the “Unimaginable” from HoL Faker Skin
As soon as the video about the bizarre interaction of the HoL Faker skin was widely shared, it became a hot topic of discussion within the community. Many players still remember the extremely high price of $500 for this skin in the past and have expressed various criticisms and sarcasm towards Riot Games. Some players even joked that this “feature” is too cheap and demanded that opponents should immediately surrender or have Ahri sitting next to them cheering while they spend $500 to own this skin.

Indeed, since its release, the HoL Ahri skin of Faker has faced many “turbulent waves” both inside and outside of League of Legends. It seems that Riot Games needs to address and fix this bug as soon as possible to avoid any negative incidents that could occur. Otherwise, Faker’s reputation could be affected if this bug is abused too much or appears in professional tournaments.
