Currently, if one were to name one of the best and most consistent ADs in the League of Legends scene, Gumayusi would likely be the first to come to mind. After joining HLE following successful years with T1, Gumayusi initially faced challenges adapting to the new environment but has now become a crucial key for HLE’s gameplay. Recently, Gumayusi confidently asserted himself.
In a post-match interview following a win over T1, when asked “Which current player do you consider your biggest rival?”, the reigning 2025 Worlds FMVP stated plainly: “Honestly, I always think I am the best, and I have no rivals.”
This interview response not only shows Gumayusi’s confidence but also his clear awareness of his own standing. At present, considering both skill and form, it’s indeed difficult for anyone to surpass the former T1 star. Interestingly, Gumayusi’s statement recalls a legendary boast from his legendary senior and former teammate Faker.
Faker once declared: “I see them as amateur players. I am the grandmaster.” This remains one of Faker’s most iconic quotes from when he was a young superstar whose talent amazed the global League of Legends community.
Gumayusi must maintain peak performance consistently
The victory over T1 certainly made a big splash, but it was just a BO3 in the group stage. HLE is well-positioned to finish first in the LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 group stage.
