Gumayusi Opens Up About His Feelings After Beating T1
Recently, HLE secured a win against T1 in the opening match of both teams in the second half of the LCK 2026 Round 1-2 group stage, continuing their undefeated streak since their loss to T1 in the first half. This could also be seen as a “sweet revenge” by HLE against the only team to have beaten them so far. For Gumayusi, this victory holds even more significance.
Gumayusi shared his feelings about beating T1 for the first time in an official tournament: “Before the season started, I aimed for a perfect record with the goal of winning every match. However, T1 put a scratch on that. So I’m very happy to have “avenged” them successfully. In this second half, I want to remain undefeated. I’m also very happy to have won today.”

After beating T1, one of the toughest opponents, HLE gains a significant advantage in maintaining a top 1-2 position during the group stage. This season, LCK introduced format changes where the top two teams in the group stage face each other early. The winner is guaranteed a spot at the tournament held in South Korea.
