Gumayusi Compared to Naruto, It Makes Perfect Sense
At the moment, it can be said that the drama surrounding T1 has calmed down significantly, and the team has returned to their familiar form. In fact, considering the overall time the main roster (DOFGK) has played, T1 has shown even more impressive performance than in Summer 2024. During the recent scrutiny of Gumayusi’s drama, many fans have noticed that he shares many similarities with one of the most famous characters in manga/anime history – Naruto.
Specifically, Gumayusi also made mistakes when he first debuted, such as overly aggressive “trash talk” whenever T1 performed well. Naruto himself is quite similar, as there were many instances where he displayed overconfidence and continuously asserted that he would become Hokage, despite not having demonstrated much at that time.
Additionally, Gumayusi has faced negative impacts from his own organization, similar to how Naruto was disliked by the entire village for harboring the Nine-Tails. In this case, while Gumayusi may not be isolated or hated by the entire T1 team, he does face animosity from a segment of extreme anti-fans (many of whom are known to be hardcore fans of Faker), and the upper management of T1 has not addressed this. Ultimately, both Gumayusi and Naruto have the goal of becoming the leader within their respective groups.
Moreover, some Western fans also noted that during MSI 2022, G2 had a poster likening the five members of T1 to the five Hokage, making the comparison even more interesting.
And T1 and Gumayusi now have even more in common with Naruto
Over time, Naruto regained the trust and affection of the people of Konoha, especially after the great battle with Pain. Gumayusi and T1 are also showing signs of revival after a series of difficulties, and Gumayusi is demonstrating good form. Of course, T1’s goal is MSI 2025 and Worlds 2025. If he can reach the pinnacle once again with T1, Gumayusi will not only prove himself perfectly but also show that he truly resembles Naruto – one of the greatest characters in manga/anime history.
