An interesting fact about Gumayusi’s journey at the KeSPA Cup 2025
Just one week after the 2025 World Championship finals, Gumayusi officially announced his departure from T1. This farewell was not entirely surprising, but it left the League of Legends community, especially T1 fans and Gumayusi fans, feeling regretful. The KeSPA Cup 2025 has become a fateful connection that brought HLE face to face with T1 and soon, DK. From this, many have discovered an intriguing aspect of Gumayusi’s journey in his first semi-official tournament in his new colors.

Accordingly, Gumayusi will face both ADCs that are related to his fate in 2025. Currently, Smash has joined DK, but earlier in the season, he was the player promoted by T1’s management to replace Gumayusi. This unexpected substitution, coupled with clips showcasing Smash’s attitude and his lackluster performance, led to criticism aimed at both Gumayusi and Smash.

While Smash faced dissatisfaction from T1 fans and Gumayusi fans, he became a “tool” for T1Gall to attack Gumayusi, further deepening the drama within T1 and the conflicts among fan groups. Currently, Gumayusi has faced Smash at the KeSPA Cup 2025.
On December 11, Gumayusi also faced Peyz. Although not as significantly related as Smash, Peyz is indeed the player who replaced Gumayusi at T1. It is almost certain that in the future, whenever T1 faces HLE, or whenever these two players compete, the audience will compare their results and performances.

Gumayusi also has something to prove
With what he has shown in T1 colors, Gumayusi is currently the best ADC in the world and, if one were to say he is the greatest ADC in the history of League of Legends, it would not be an exaggeration. However, Gumayusi likely understands that he still has one challenge to overcome, and his departure from T1 is to undertake this challenge: will Gumayusi succeed after leaving T1? The 2026 season will be the answer.
