Gumayusi Admits an Issue Affecting Both Gen.G and T1
Recently, T1 successfully “shut down” Gen.G’s unbeaten streak in the first match of Faker and his teammates during the Rounds 3-5 of LCK 2025. With this victory, coupled with HLE’s recent loss to Gen.G, T1’s chances of securing second place in the standings after the group stage are entirely feasible. However, Gumayusi admitted after the match: “We are all extremely tired.”

According to Gumayusi, “Our schedule is really exhausting. And every year, it gets worse than the last. In the past, we had more time to rest between tournaments. But I feel like this time is getting shorter and shorter.”
For those who may not know, due to deep runs in both MSI 2025 and EWC 2025, both T1 and Gen.G have very grueling schedules. Specifically, T1 has played the most games in MSI 2025. Meanwhile, Gen.G had less than 36 hours from their arrival in Korea before they had to face HLE. It’s clear to see how exhausted the Gen.G players look on stage.

Perhaps Riot Needs to Reconsider to Prevent Heavy Impact on Teams like T1 and Gen.G
Clearly, competing and winning every title is something every player aspires to. But the schedule of tournaments is becoming too close together, which can negatively affect the teams themselves. Esports players, in particular, or League of Legends players in general, are very prone to hand injuries or illnesses due to irregular lifestyles. One could say, in Faker’s case, the current schedule of T1 is a torment.

As a result, the players themselves may find it difficult to deliver quality matches. And certainly, fans do not come to the venue to wait for their favorite team’s players to be sluggish on stage, especially against direct competitors.
