One of the most notable highlights of Gen.G at the LCK Spring 2023, as well as being expected to continue shining at MSI 2023, is young marksman Peyz. He was promoted from Gen.G’s youth team to replace veteran marksman Ruler, who moved to JD Gaming. In his very first appearance with Gen.G’s main team, Peyz achieved what Ruler took almost his entire career in the LCK to accomplish: winning an LCK season championship.

Not only that, Peyz played an incredibly important role in Gen.G’s achievement of defending their LCK championship. In the finals against T1, the young marksman even matched up evenly with Gumayusi – a player considered one of the best marksmen in the world today. Peyz has astonishing composure and is predicted to achieve even more success in the future, starting with MSI 2023.

To have the success he currently enjoys, it goes without saying that Peyz has trained rigorously. But when he revealed his secret, the audience was even more shocked, and some even secretly wished to be like Peyz. Specifically, according to Peyz, he showed a talent for gaming from a young age and fortunately, his family, especially his mother, fully supported him.
According to Peyz, his mother even hired a tutor not to teach him academic subjects, but to teach him… how to play games. The Gen.G marksman shared, “When I said I wanted to become a professional League of Legends player, a friend of my mother’s introduced a former player who came to guide me on how to rank up effectively.” The explanation at that time was that only high ranks would attract the attention of teams.

However, when she felt her son was not progressing fast enough, Peyz’s mother requested the “teacher” to come more often and play all day and night. In fact, Peyz’s mother even invited the tutor to live with them for easier training for the young marksman. The teacher-student duo lived under one roof for an entire month, and Peyz was trained day and night. After many efforts, the invitation from Gen.G was a well-deserved reward for the 2005-born player.

It can be said that Peyz has been incredibly lucky as he has a family that not only supports him but even “pushes” him to become a true superstar. This is something that not only people in Vietnam but perhaps many around the world also envy. If one day, the potential players of VCS receive the same strong support from their families as Peyz, Vietnamese League of Legends could develop remarkably.
