Throughout the recent period, since the Spring 2024 tournament began, Gen.G has shown their dominating strength as they continuously secured victories against various opponents.
This includes the reigning world champion T1 and the team that consistently troubled Gen.G last year – Bilibili Gaming. Gen.G’s objectives have been achieved one by one, and now, Chovy and his teammates are preparing to enter the playoffs of LCK Summer 2024 to defend their LCK championship and set the stage for the upcoming Worlds 2024 tournament.

However, before the LCK playoffs begin, Gen.G has suddenly been “ousted” from the top spot in the elo ranking by an unexpected name.
It is not the mighty BLG but rather Top Esports – the team that recently defeated Gen.G at the 2024 Esports World Cup and eliminated the reigning MSI 2024 champion after just one BO3 match. This change comes as LPL Summer 2024 is nearing the end of its playoffs, and TES has secured their first victory in this round to advance to round 4. In this summer tournament, TES is also one of the two championship contenders thanks to the stable performance of all five positions.

In reality, this elo point can change once Gen.G begins their journey in the playoffs of LCK Summer 2024. The point difference between the two teams is not too large. Given that TES could still face defeat against BLG even if they reach the finals (as has happened in previous encounters between the two teams), Gen.G likely will rise again soon, as they appear too strong compared to the current LCK. Their recent loss to KT was merely a “temporary accident” on a day when Gen.G was complacent while KT played exceptionally well.

But when stepping onto the world stage, it will be a different story. Aside from BLG and T1, the matchup between Gen.G and TES is also highly anticipated, especially since TES is one of the two teams that have managed to defeat Gen.G up to this point.
