Gen.G “cosplay” G2 ngay tại Việt Nam
On the afternoon of May 8 (Vietnam time), KRX’s first match at LCK Roadshow 2026 in Vietnam took place, with the victory going to the “Blue Dragon”‘s opponent – the reigning LCK champion Gen.G. This was an expected outcome. However, the interesting part was Gen.G’s champion picks, as they “recreated” their own loss at First Stand 2026 against G2.

Specifically, Gen.G reused the exact champion trio that G2 used to dismantle them at First Stand: Kog’Maw – Lulu in the Bot Lane and Shen in the Top Lane. In fact, Kog’Maw has been an extremely rare pick in the LCK for many years. But on a day when the team was relaxed, performing well, and facing a not-so-strong opponent, Gen.G did not hesitate to make entertaining yet effective picks.

Canyon himself admitted: “We encountered these picks (Shen – Kog’Maw – Lulu) at First Stand and it was a very bad experience for the entire team. That defeat was really hard to accept but it was also valuable experience that international tournaments can offer.”
Gen.G is gradually regaining their winning form
Since their 0-2 loss to HLE a few weeks ago, Gen.G has remained undefeated up to now and has closed the gap with the leading teams. Currently, they rank just behind KT by exactly one loss, and the initiative is entirely in Gen.G’s hands. This is because KT’s form is no longer as stable as at the season’s start, and they still face opponents HLE, Gen.G, and T1 in the remaining weeks of the group stage.

However, Gen.G cannot be complacent, as HLE, KT, and T1 will also be their upcoming opponents. These matches will not only determine group stage rankings but may also shape the fate of these teams on the Road to MSI.
