Gen.G Officially Announces Ruler Incident
As is well known, one of the issues currently concerning the League of Legends community, especially in South Korea, is Ruler’s tax incident. After a long time since the story broke, both Ruler and Gen.G have recently spoken out. In a recent statement, representatives of the reigning LCK champions indicated that appropriate measures would be taken regarding the team’s key marksman.

Accordingly, the essence of Gen.G’s statement revolves around: “The team will handle the case of player Ruler, possibly with internal disciplinary measures. But everything will depend on the final results of the investigation committee.” Thus, it is highly likely that Ruler will continue to compete in the near future, as typically, when the situation has cooled down, internal penalties will primarily serve as a deterrent.

LCK Audience Frustrated with Gen.G and Ruler
Of course, the fact that Ruler and Gen.G have only now made statements is considered too late for the audience, especially in the LCK region. Moreover, with the announcement that Ruler will face internal handling, the matter seems to be settled, and the player is hardly affected significantly. This is the factor that has made LCK fans upset, especially since the issue Ruler faced is quite sensitive.
– So it seems like it’s over now.
– No need for announcements anymore, because it’s already too late.
– Looking at how HLE handled the Clid incident back then, one must admire.

In reality, Ruler had completed all outstanding payments even before the incident broke. However, what is concerning is the delay from both Gen.G and Ruler in addressing the matter. At that time, Ruler still comfortably streamed, while his fans attempted to use Faker to overshadow the incident, which is essentially “adding fuel to the fire.” The outrage from LCK fans is completely understandable.
