Skins are one of the key elements that contribute to the success of games, especially for those that have become immensely popular like League of Legends. Skins in League of Legends are categorized into various tiers such as Epic, Legacy… and are a very effective tool for Garena to “exploit” players. Gamers themselves are often willing to “give blood” if the skins are beautiful, appealing, or rare.

However, Garena has previously been caught inflating skin prices to exploit players more thoroughly. Long-time gamers surely remember the incident where Wukong the Monkey King was raised to 599 RP even though it was not a Legendary skin, or the case of Jax the Grandmaster at Arms being turned into a limited skin on the Vietnamese server while in foreign servers, this skin could be easily purchased at a reasonable price.

Recently, in a gaming community, players discovered that Garena was again inflating skin prices by upgrading a skin from Epic (blue stone) to Legendary (red stone). However, this deceptive act by Garena left “evidence”. Specifically, the skin that was altered is Twisted Fate Space Thief. In the skin’s introduction that players can open, this skin is displayed as Legendary. But in the Treasure section, the skin fragment shows a blue stone (Epic).

Garena’s act of inflating skin tiers to “exploit” gamers is being vehemently condemned by the community. However, it seems everyone understands that outrage won’t change anything, and the affected players will have to accept being “exploited” by Garena.
