For the League of Legends community, Teamfight Tactics is a rather “chill” strategy game due to its relaxed gameplay that doesn’t require as much action as the 5v5 Summoner’s Rift map. Notably, Teamfight Tactics is also a solo game, so there are no instances of frustration caused by teammates.

However, setting aside all those usual arguments, recently a “pro player” lost a match (likely a ranked one) in TFT and erupted in anger with a punch directed straight at the screen, parallel to the ground, with a speed and force comparable to a strike by the legendary Bruce Lee, causing the unfortunate screen to shatter. The incident was captured on camera at a high-end cyber cafe in China, reportedly occurring on September 8.
Of course, nowadays all modern internet cafes have cameras, so the perpetrator who broke the screen was quickly identified by the community. What’s more, after smashing the “certainly-not-cheap” screen, this young man reacted even quicker than Faker dodging a skill, swiftly turning off the screen and attempting to nonchalantly stand up and leave, pretending as if nothing happened.
Though it remains to be seen whether the cafe owner will track him down and demand compensation for the screen, the international gaming community has had some interesting comments and reactions regarding this decisively reckless behavior. While the punch to the screen might be seen as a humorous situation, the actions that followed drew severe criticism from many, as it was clear that this gamer had no intention of taking responsibility for his actions.
What’s even more concerning is that this incident occurred right at the time when the Chinese government has tightened regulations on gaming for minors, and this player’s actions have further tarnished the community’s image.

“Just had to break it, just had to break it.”
>>> “It’s like clogging up a toilet at a party and then leaving, waiting for someone else to take the blame.”

“The kid didn’t even log out before leaving.”
>>> “What a rookie.”

“He turned off the screen so quickly, this can’t be his first time.”

“How can you get so frustrated playing TFT that you punch the screen?”

“The poor screen, he doesn’t deserve to use it.”
>>> “Wow, no one’s using it now!”

“I love how he lightly touched the screen right after punching it, like ‘Oh no, what have I done?’ before packing up and leaving.”

“This is why China is banning gaming.”

“That’s why the government is cutting down on gaming hours.”
