Recently, a League of Legends gamer shared on Reddit about the sweet memories he has with his girlfriend while playing the game. He had the chance to “show off” the story of how he “lured” his girlfriend into gaming alongside him, and later witnessed her “try-hard” journey as she became passionate about the game, with proof being the notebook she “designed” to jot down the most basic guides about the champions she played, from skill upgrade order to item builds… It even features vibrant illustrations of the champions that look just like the originals:
“I found my girlfriend’s ‘League of Legends Item Build’ notebook when she first started playing back in 2014/2015
I started playing League of Legends a year before we started dating. After 2 years of dating, she began gaming with me too. Today, while cleaning out old stuff in the garage, I accidentally found her ‘League of Legends Item Build’ notebook. It contained everything from skill upgrades to item purchases… and I’m sure most of us when we first started playing the game had a similar approach to it. For those who are new to gaming, you should know that back then, we didn’t have as many ways to find information about League of Legends, like the specific apps right on our phones like today. The best way to find item build paths back then was an app called ‘Jungle Camp Timer’, back when League of Legends didn’t have 5-minute buffs or 6-minute dragons yet.
Sometimes when playing ARAM, she would even call me just to ask: ‘How should Quinn build in ARAM, babe?’ That really was a wonderful time.”

As soon as the story was posted, the gamer mentioned made many League of Legends players envious of having a girlfriend who shares the same passion and invests so much effort into the game, just to share the joy with her boyfriend.
Moreover, the notebook was created 6 years ago (when Luden’s Echo was still in its old version and Athene’s Unholy Grail had not been removed), so many gamers viewed this as a topic to reminisce about old memories:
“- Was Luden’s Echo already a thing in 2015? Oh, how time flies like a dog running in the field, I can’t even remember the day this item was released, but it always feels like ‘how has it been 6 years already?’…
– I can relate, I did the same as your girlfriend, wrote down everything I learned while practicing League of Legends in a notebook 10 years ago, such nostalgia.
– How many champions did she note down in that notebook?
– A whole world of cuteness.
– Oh my god, look at that portrait of Lux, you’ve got an amazing girlfriend.
– The drawing of Lux is so perfect.
– Honestly, I rarely meet a girl who tries hard in gaming to this extent. Either she pours all her enthusiasm into what she loves. You’re lucky, man!
– Remember when Luden’s Echo was incredibly strong.
– Sorry, man, but after all that cuteness, I’m still haunted by those Lux support builds with Luden’s Echo. I hope that item build guide your girlfriend made is for mid lane.”
Since the story took place a while ago, many gamers also expressed curiosity about the current relationship between the author of the post and the girlfriend who owns the notebook. The main character’s response left many relieved and happy (fearing they might have broken up) while also feeling a bit envious about their love story filled with… “dog food”:

“- Are you two still together?
>> (The author replies) 9 years together, 1 year engaged and now she’s 8 months pregnant with our child.
>>> You’ve given the last hope to all League of Legends addicts who still dream of having a girlfriend.
>>>> Congratulations, but honestly, don’t let your child play League of Legends, okay!
>>>>> He’s already named the kid Garen. (That’s my guess). >>>>> What about Draven?
>>>>>> Both parents are League of Legends gamers, when the kid feeds 0/10, the parents are like: ‘Let’s have another one!’
– So cute!!!!! I read the comments and saw you say you’ve been together for 9 years, I wish I had a gamer love story like that! Oh my heart!
– The sweetest story I’ve ever heard, wishing both of you happiness.”
