On April 23, the final match of the VCS Spring 2023 took place, marking the first VCS event since Riot officially took over and re-released League of Legends in Vietnam. The VCS and VNGGames organizers collaborated with teams to hold Viewing Parties in four major cities across the country: Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh City. This can be considered the largest Viewing Party in the history of VCS to date.

In the two largest cities in Vietnam – Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, a large number of fans from both teams attended and contributed to the success of the Viewing Party. In fact, many fans traveled long distances to participate in the largest esports event in the history of LoL in Vietnam. Additionally, many well-known figures in the League of Legends community such as Teacher Ba, Optimus…, famous cosplayers, and the beautiful female MC duo of VCS – Remind and Minh Nghi also made appearances at the Viewing Party in Ho Chi Minh City.

Throughout the Viewing Party in Ho Chi Minh City, the number of GAM fans was fewer than SE fans, but the enthusiasm was not lacking. In fact, after SE’s main base exploded in the fourth game, the sounds from the yellow and black supporters completely overwhelmed their opponents’ fans.

Meanwhile, SE fans were full of energy even after their team was trailing 2-0 after the first two games. Notably, the atmosphere among SE fans was revived when “Pink Chicken” narrowed the score to 1-2 after the third game. However, in the decisive game, SE fans became quiet and still. The atmosphere was completely opposite to earlier when Slayder continuously exploited the kills of Sty1e and the GAM members.

After claiming the championship, GAM’s owner – TK Nguyen made a splash with a double-decker bus parade, traveling from Go Vap to District 1. This was also the first time in history that an esports team celebrated their championship in such an impressive way.
“At GAM, we always aim for a common goal of elevating esports to new heights. I am very proud of what we have accomplished at the four Viewing Parties across the country: Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh City. It is a gift for our beloved GAM fans. The excitement and energy from #GAMFAM (GAM fan community) is extremely powerful. Thanks to them, we have today,” – TK Nguyen shared.

This professional celebration style will also help the general audience have a more positive view of esports, gradually eliminating prejudice against electronic sports in society. Moreover, these Viewing Parties will further connect the League of Legends community in Vietnam and the esports scene in general. This connection will be the foundation for Vietnamese esports to grow stronger in the future.
