GAM Continues to Show Weakness
With the return of a series of other tournaments, LCP Split 2 2026 has officially kicked off and in the first week of competition, 2 out of 3 teams representing the VCS region have achieved convincing victories. The only name that continues to suffer defeats and seems unable to escape its issues is GAM Esports. Once the “big brother of VCS”, GAM was devastated by TSW and in both matches, the golden-black team of League of Legends Vietnam had virtually no chance to fight back.

Notably, the biggest and most obvious issue in GAM’s defeats is simply that they are still playing disjointed and lack a true in-game leader. However, it is noteworthy that GAM currently has Kiaya as the new captain after Levi, while Taki is the former captain and in-game leader of TSW. Yet, both players have been unable to do anything to help GAM overcome its current struggles.

Kiaya is undoubtedly a highly talented player, and his skill level is recognized by the global League of Legends community. Taki is also a capable Support who has shown good leadership qualities during his time with Saigon Buffalo, followed by Team Secret and later TSW. However, when Taki joined GAM, he lacked the experience or influence needed. Meanwhile, the influential player, Kiaya, is not yet capable of leading the team like Levi did before.

GAM Needs to Identify and Address Its Issues
The problems of GAM are clear to everyone, but what they need to do now is to determine which player should follow the commands of whom. Not to mention, at this point, GAM has a “rookie” in a very important position as a Jungler, who is replacing Levi. Without proper guidance, Draktharr may continue to lose his way, dragging GAM’s performance down as it has shown throughout the time, from Split 1 to the present.
