Only a few days remain until MSI 2024 officially kicks off with the Play-In stage. This year, Riot has implemented several changes to enhance the competitiveness of the first international tournament of 2024. Consequently, the Play-In stage will be more exciting with the participation of giants like T1, Top Esports, and Fnatic… However, one concerning aspect is that due to these changes, the chances for VCS and teams from smaller regions as well as wildcards to advance to the group stage have slightly diminished.

Of course, both groups are tough. Nevertheless, GAM Esports will do their utmost to compete for the remaining spot in Group B to advance further. Their opponents, TES and FNC, have previously faced GAM in the past. Despite numerous personnel changes, there is still a foundation for the VCS representative to secure a victory. However, just days before the tournament begins, GAM has delivered extremely bad news for Vietnamese League of Legends fans.

Recently, it was reported that captain Levi has fallen seriously ill, with internal sources from GAM suggesting that he suffered from food poisoning and had to go to the hospital by himself. This is indeed a concerning factor. No one knows Levi’s condition at this point. Meanwhile, on international social media platforms, many netizens from China or those familiar with the region have warned against certain dishes that newcomers should absolutely avoid.

However, what stands out the most is the attitude of the VCS community. Most have sent well wishes to GAM’s captain. Yet, some individuals believe that GAM is making “excuses” because their group at MSI 2024 is genuinely tough, and the chances of advancing are not very high.

Clearly, in the past and up to now, Levi has rarely used reasons outside of professional matters whenever he or the GAM team performed poorly. Perhaps now, VCS fans should just hope that GAM’s captain and all team members are in the best condition to prepare for the upcoming battles in Chengdu.
