In late 2023, the situation surrounding former 2019 Worlds champion Doinb facing the risk of “going to jail” has attracted a lot of attention from fans. This all started when the popular livestream platform Douyu came under investigation. In fact, the CEO of this platform was even arrested due to allegations of organizing illegal gambling through livestreams.
Right after this incident occurred, Doinb completely vanished from social media and livestream platforms. Many viewers speculated that he was involved in the above allegations and was at risk of arrest. As a result, Doinb hurriedly sent his family back to South Korea to “take refuge.” As of now, the former 2019 Worlds champion has been “missing” for about 3 months and shows no signs of returning.

However, on the evening of February 16th, Doinb surprised the community with an unexpected “return.” Specifically, Doinb’s Korean ranked account became active again with two dominant games in the Jungle position. This left many of his fans astonished, thinking Doinb was about to return to livestreaming.

However, the truth was quickly uncovered by fans: those games were actually not played by Doinb. The real player behind those matches was Shinyi, whose Korean ranked account was temporarily banned. Meanwhile, the former 2019 Worlds champion has still not made any mention of League of Legends.

In January 2024, there were reports that Doinb would return to livestreaming after paying a fine. However, as of now, Doinb has yet to show any signs of a comeback. With his Korean ranked account being “neglected” to the point of being used by someone else, his fans have grown increasingly disappointed and lost faith in the potential return of the former 2019 Worlds champion.

Fairly speaking, Doinb’s career as a player can be considered successful as he has won both LPL and Worlds titles. Even as he ventured into streaming, Doinb captured a lot of affection with his entertaining content. It would be a real shame if one day Doinb completely disappears from League of Legends as he does now.
