Former World Champion Makes Extremely Amateur Mistake
Recently, according to information from the League of Legends community, confirmed by commentator Hoàng Luân on his stream, a very basic mistake occurred involving the former World Champion of 2020 – Ghost. For those who may not know, Ghost is the AD carry of the Damwon Gaming roster that won the World Championship in 2020 and is considered one of the most exemplary weak-side AD carries in League of Legends history. However, he recently made a very amateurish mistake during a promotion match in the LCS.
Specifically, Ghost, playing for Estral Esports, along with another former LCK star, Summit, participated in a promotion match in the LCS against Disguised. However, the match was interrupted several times by long pauses. Instead of sitting quietly and waiting as is customary for other players, Ghost and Summit were revealed to have their screens still displaying League of Legends and their Discord chat during the match. This is a prohibited action in professional League of Legends and could be classified as cheating if discovered.
On the afternoon of October 7 (Vietnam time), Summit was notified that he would be suspended for the remainder of the promotion round, and Estral Esports was allowed to urgently find a replacement, while Ghost has yet to be penalized.

Notably, these violations are basic mistakes in professional League of Legends. Both Summit and Ghost have many years of experience, and no one understands why they made such elementary errors. Both have also played online during the COVID-19 pandemic, so it cannot be said that they are unfamiliar with the format.
As for Ghost, after a long break from competitive League of Legends, Estral Esports is the first team he has joined. However, with this recent “self-sabotage,” Estral Esports’ chances of promotion may be even more difficult, and Ghost himself may also face penalties for his actions, similar to Summit.
