Former World Champion Predicts the Future of T1 Star
After wrapping up his journey in the LPL, former World Champion Doinb has resumed livestreaming with content that continues to capture the attention of the League of Legends community as always. Recently, he shared his thoughts on the drama currently captivating the League community – the situation involving T1 and Gumayusi – Smash. Notably, Doinb made a bold claim that Gumayusi will return.

Specifically, the former World Champion stated: “There’s no more lane swapping meta. Therefore, I assure you, 100% Gumayusi will return. This will not have much impact on us (NIP). And at this moment, Ashe could potentially become the only ADC who can play in a double ADC strategy in the Bot Lane.”

Notably, this has also been acknowledged by many T1 fans upon hearing news that Riot will eliminate the lane swapping meta. Although T1 has crowned the World Championship with this playstyle, it required them to have an ADC and Top Laner capable of playing every champion matchup. In 2024, they have Zeus and Gumayusi. Meanwhile, T1’s rookie – Smash can only contribute when playing in a “single ADC” style.

Gumayusi can also fully leverage resources. This bot-centric playstyle helped T1 achieve an undefeated Spring 2022 season, and it was also when Faker described them as “the strongest T1 currently”.
But even T1 fans can’t predict anything
In reality, everyone has seen Smash’s performance during his time substituting for Gumayusi at the 2025 LCK Cup, and T1 probably has an even clearer view. Along with the recent drama, T1 fans are more eager than ever for the ADC who helped the team win two consecutive World Championships to return.

But ultimately, the decision lies with T1’s management. The Regular Seasons are an important tournament, and how T1’s 2025 season unfolds may depend solely on their upcoming decisions.
