Comparisons in the League of Legends community are inevitable, especially in the fiercely competitive environment of the LPL. With mid laners being some of the key players who operate and lead their teams in matches, comparisons between these mid laners are bound to arise. Recently, former Invictus Gaming player PDD shared his thoughts on two of the most renowned mid laners in the LPL: Doinb and Rookie.

However, whether intentional or not, while praising Doinb, PDD made some rather cutting remarks towards his junior Rookie at IG: “Both Doinb and Rookie are good, but unlike Rookie, Doinb is more intelligent. And I rarely see any player as hardworking as Doinb these days.”
This incident has sparked quite a few mixed opinions in the comments section of the clip. Many of them express disagreement with PDD’s somewhat subjective viewpoint:

Despite this, many fans acknowledge that Doinb’s dedication is truly commendable. Moreover, he has a deep understanding of the game and continuously strives to improve his skills day by day.

While still acknowledging Doinb as a talent and a diligent player, PDD’s comments, if intentional, could be seen as an insult to his junior Rookie. PDD was once the founder of eStar and also owns the renowned youth training facility Young Miracle, which produced stars like Ning and Tian. In terms of expertise, PDD is a notable name in the Chinese League of Legends scene, but it seems he has caused misunderstandings with his somewhat “hard to hear” statements.
Despite coming up empty in 2021, it cannot be said that Rookie has played without intelligence. The entire IG team has clearly been underperforming since they won the 2018 World Championship.
