First Rookie Information of GAM Emerges

As we know, in recent days after officially losing the spot to participate in Worlds 2025, many VCS fans believe that GAM will undergo some new reforms. In fact, they have already started even while GAM is still competing in ASI 2025. Three members, including two key figures from the coaching staff, Archie and XuHao, along with AD Carry EasyLove have left GAM. At the same time, there is recent information that GAM intends to recruit Chika, a player currently on the MVKE team.

For those who don’t know, Chika was also a trainee at DRX Academy similar to LazyFeel. However, the mid-laner position in LCK has never been easy to compete for, not to mention foreign players. Therefore, Chika had to return to VCS to seek opportunities and is currently a substitute for MVKE while also playing for MVK Academy.

But the issues of GAM run deeper than just changing a few positions

According to many opinions, the personnel changes at GAM are bound to happen. But more fundamentally, the issue of GAM is not just about switching one or two positions; perhaps it requires a complete reform of their competitive mindset and playstyle.

Because everyone can see, GAM’s playstyle over the past many years, regardless of their lineup, has always depended on Kiaya and Levi. Even when the overall meta has shifted away from Top Lane, GAM has not changed. From mid-laners making plays like Kati to damage dealers like Aress or Emo, they still have to funnel resources into the two top players. AD Carries needing resources like Slayder or Artemis have also not been maximized.

Of course, with subconscious habits ingrained in their playstyle, changing personnel is necessary but not sufficient. GAM needs to implement even stronger reforms or will have to continue to accept stagnation. The 2025 season is a painful “slap in the face,” but perhaps only GAM knows if they have truly awakened or not.
