LPL Legend Sparks Controversy Again
As known, during the past week of competition, the legend of League of Legends in China – former Worlds champion Doinb made a triumphant return with a stellar performance. Not only did he demonstrate that his skills and form have not diminished, but he also led Ninjas in Pyjamas to convincingly defeat the “super team” Invictus Gaming, featuring stars like TheShy and Rookie.
Additionally, with his strong personality and fearless attitude, Doinb delivered some intense trash talk after the match: “To all the fans who always support me, you had a tense day. As we all know, the support ratio for us was only 3% compared to 97% for the other side. I truly appreciate this 3%. And I want to say to everyone else: BOW DOWN!!!”.
Of course, with Doinb’s personality, not many fans were surprised by this bold statement during the post-match interview. However, IG fans, who are still “hurting” from their team’s loss, found it unacceptable.
Many LPL Fans Call for Doinb’s Ban
On various Chinese social media platforms, many have called for the LPL organizers and Riot to impose a heavy penalty on NIP’s Mid Laner. “He is too arrogant. That behavior disrespects the audience,” one comment stated on Weibo.
However, according to many fans, it’s possible that Doinb and NIP may only receive a light penalty for their somewhat excessive behavior. After all, this match against IG was Doinb’s first professional game in over two years. His emotional outburst can be understood.
Furthermore, according to some statistics, Doinb quickly brought in a massive view count (over 1 million at peak – on the Chinese streaming platform) for the LPL. Therefore, the tournament organizers may also be lenient with him, especially as the LPL has been losing some of its appeal after several years of coming up empty at the Worlds stage.
