These days, no fan in the region is as excited as the League of Legends (LoL) community in Vietnam. This is because GAM Esports has once again kept the hope alive in the Swiss round of the World Championship (Worlds) 2023. The reigning champion VCS has notably improved in their recent match against Team Liquid, securing a convincing victory. Across various forums, numerous congratulations have been sent to the yellow-black team players.

Of course, while the audience is incredibly excited, those working at the event are even more thrilled. However, there was an unexpected incident when male commentator H.D from the live channel Worlds 2023 under VCS made some very vulgar remarks about the team TL. The reason was that Team Liquid’s abbreviation is TL, which sparked some rather inappropriate associations.

Naturally, with such a slip of the tongue on the VCS live broadcast, the Vietnamese LoL audience immediately expressed their dissatisfaction and outrage. After all, the VCS is currently a system of Riot, and it is certain that there will be foreign viewers tuning in. Moreover, H.D is representing Riot as well as the VCS organizing committee during the Worlds 2023. Therefore, if this action is discovered by Riot, it could significantly impact the Vietnamese LoL scene.

This is not the first time commentators at the analysis desk have been criticized by viewers for unprofessional behavior. Previously, female MC Remind also faced a very awkward situation when her on-site hosting was interrupted by a colleague at the analysis desk. The male commentator involved in that incident also received a lot of backlash from the audience.

Everyone knows that when GAM achieves new feats, it’s understandable to be a bit too excited. However, commentators on live broadcasts cannot act so unprofessionally, especially when the VCS is receiving a lot of attention from the global audience and making a positive impression at this year’s Worlds.
