Famous Male Streamer Unhappy with T1 and Faker
In the closing days of the year, T1 and Faker have added several awards from the League Awards – an event created by two of the most prominent casters and hosts in the LoL scene, Caedrel and Sjokz. The selection criteria for the winners are based on fan votes and votes from industry experts.

Accordingly, Faker won 2 awards for “Play of the Year” and “Player of the Year,” while T1 secured 2 awards for “Moment of the Year” and “Team of the Year.” It can be said that Faker and T1 have swept the most valuable awards at the League Awards.
However, Caedrel – one of the founders of the awards – expressed his dissatisfaction with T1 and Faker sweeping all the major categories. In a now-deleted comment on stream, the famous male streamer stated: “T1 won 7 out of 19 awards at the League Awards, and their players were nominated in 10 out of 19 categories. They only lost the ‘LCK Player of the Year’ award to Chovy.”

Caedrel asserted that it was T1’s massive fanbase that helped them win, and he believes that “Chovy or BLG deserved it more because they maintained good performance throughout the year.” Of course, Caedrel’s remarks got him into trouble. A heated debate erupted, and he had to post an apology video afterward.

The Debate Surrounding T1 and Faker’s Awards Has Been Ongoing
For many years, awards similar to Caedrel’s League Awards have continuously sparked controversy. Not only Faker and T1 but even Zeka and DRX in 2022 received mixed opinions. T1, in particular, had an even more inconsistent performance in 2024 than in 2023. However, after winning the Worlds championship, they nearly swept all awards, notably the Esports Awards.

However, it must be acknowledged that for many fans, these awards are merely a “formality” after the season has ended. Therefore, whether they exist or not causes less debate than the official tournaments and the team’s performance over the year for each fan.
