As we know, not only do professional players have their work cut out for them, but superstars like Faker also receive numerous benefits and income from livestreaming contracts and advertising for T1’s sponsors. For teams that have gained fame beyond the scope of League of Legends, or top-tier players like Faker, the brands looking to collaborate will naturally increase. Of course, alongside monetary income, there are accompanying products. Just recently, Faker posted a photo of himself checking in with some BMWs. Moreover, during the occasion of Faker joining the Hall of Legends, the car manufacturer Mercedes immediately gifted him a custom-designed version.

However, a recent event has left the League of Legends community in shock. Specifically, according to the latest information, the luxury cars from brand B that were gifted to Faker for his birthday have been recalled after the sponsorship contract between this renowned car brand and T1, along with Faker, came to an end. Although Faker has not spoken out about the incident, many fans feel that this is indeed an unreasonable move from the world’s leading car manufacturer.

– “What a ‘gift’ that is”
– “I can understand the contractual side, and how this company negotiates… but the question is why label it as a ‘gift'”
– “This confuses me. Why call it a ‘gift’? Why not just say it was a loan from the start”
It’s worth mentioning that many people discovered that these cars were previously sent to Faker under the guise of birthday gifts from the superstar of T1. No one is clear on the contractual issue between the two parties, but it is evident that asking for the return of gifts that have already been given seems a bit unreasonable in the general consensus of the community. Even in normal situations (not involving expensive gifts), ending a relationship and asking for gifts back is often a very sensitive and controversial matter.

But after all, Faker himself probably doesn’t see any issue with it. Furthermore, in the signed contracts, there may have been clauses, and Faker is simply following through. However, for many T1 fans, especially the ‘Demon King’ fans, the actions of brand B have genuinely left many feeling puzzled and somewhat… “disheartened”.
