As we know, a few days ago, the players of T1 had to finalize their choice for which champion would receive their Worlds 2023 skin to be released next year. Due to the significance of this championship, many fans were eagerly anticipating T1’s choices. However, at the last minute, Faker made a “U-turn” and chose Orianna instead of Ahri as expected. Meanwhile, Keria hesitated so long that even at 12:30 AM on December 23, he was still in contact with Riot to change his selection.

We can sympathize with the T1 players, as according to Riot’s regulations, they only have one choice each, but there are too many champions considered iconic. For instance, Faker had to forgo Azir—the champion that helped him defeat JD Gaming in the decisive Game 3 of the semifinals. Similarly, Keria had to give up Lux because he hadn’t had the opportunity to use this champion throughout the tournament. Thus, it’s understandable that the players had difficulty making their choices.

But after the “U-turn” that left fans’ hearts shattered, Faker recently revealed important information on his stream: “Perhaps Riot can bring a surprise gift for the fourth championship. They might unexpectedly create a skin to commemorate 4 Worlds championships for Ahri or LeBlanc.” Of course, Faker mentioned this while his chat was continuously “interrogating” T1’s captain about his “U-turn” decision.
In fact, many T1 fans have been hoping for this and have sent requests to Riot. Although Riot breaking the rules is “unprecedented,” with the exception of Easyhoon in the past, it’s clear that T1’s championship is an achievement “unlike any other.” If Riot can “cater to” T1 fans, it could significantly boost the sales of T1 Ahri (if it happens).

However, if Riot does not follow through, no one can complain. And in that case, perhaps T1 fans and Faker, as well as anyone who loves Ahri, can only hope that T1 successfully defends their championship, just like Faker’s determination, to allow the T1 stars to be chosen for the Worlds skin once again.
