Faker “throws shade” at T1’s “data collection” efforts
Recently, T1 secured a victory against BNK FearX, becoming the third team to qualify for the playoffs of the Road to MSI. This spectacular comeback has brought relief to T1 fans after a tumultuous start to the season. Particularly in the second match, T1 showcased a glimpse of the dominance they exhibited during the 2022 season with an undefeated streak, daring to abandon their usual picks to experiment with Smolder, Senna… Notably, after the match, Faker playfully “threw shade” at T1, much to the delight of the fans.

Faker shared about T1’s special picks: “When entering major tournaments, we need to prepare multiple champion options and different team compositions. We have prepared many ban/pick scenarios and today T1 has gathered the data they needed.”
From Faker’s remarks, it’s clear he was referring to T1’s recent roster change in the bot lane, bringing in Smash to replace Gumayusi, and coach KkOma later admitted that the team wanted to gather data, which led to the substitution. However, T1 subsequently faced disappointment and controversy as Smash showed he was not yet able to replace his predecessor. In fact, T1’s actions even made Smash the center of much criticism.

Faker subtly admits T1 is ready to challenge the two powerful teams above them
Faker himself expressed regret that T1 had opportunities to win against Gen.G in both the first and second rounds but couldn’t capitalize. “We are improving our shortcomings and raising our performance to aim for higher rounds,” Faker stated.

At this point, it’s safe to say that T1 has overcome their crisis to return to their familiar path. However, beating teams like DK and FOX is quite ordinary. Although T1 has reached the playoffs, there are still three matches ahead, one of which is a confrontation with HLE. This will be the final “test” in the group stage for T1 to affirm their determination, alongside Faker and his teammates.
