Perhaps those who have followed LoL since its inception know this: in T1, almost all the spotlight has shone on Faker. Even though he has always had talented teammates around him, the media policies of SKT T1/T1 have placed Faker in the visual spotlight. The Mid Laner of T1 has shown that the organization made no mistake in choosing him to “invest” in. Faker’s professionalism, serious attitude, politeness, and humility are more than enough for him to become a shining example in the professional LoL scene.

However, after Worlds 2023, the attention has been more evenly spread. Names like Gumayusi, Keria, Zeus, and Oner… have all received the proper recognition for their contributions. In fact, Faker has even taken a step back more than his younger teammates. For instance, he streams the latest in the entire lineup, and most of his content is related to his younger teammates.

Recently, the entire T1 team was invited to participate in the famous show Knowing Brothers in Korea. For those who don’t know, this is one of the oldest and most prestigious shows in the Korean entertainment industry. Only top stars like BTS, BLACKPINK, or PSY can be invited to shows like this, and surely, participation leads to high viewership. Moreover, this program is broadcast on TV, and typically, only Faker would be invited. However, this time, Knowing Brothers has drawn attention by inviting all T1 members.

Additionally, T1’s participation in Knowing Brothers has made a Kpop star “crazy”—Heechul, a member of Super Junior. He is a huge fan of T1 and Faker and is one of the main MCs of the popular show. Therefore, once the news broke that T1 would be participating, many fans mentioned Heechul on various forums. The singer himself even commented on Gumayusi’s personal page.

With T1 winning Worlds held in Korea and being the “LCK’s last hope”, the stature of all players has been elevated to a new level. It can be said that T1 is now on par with many famous Kpop idols, and this time the glory is shared with the entire team, not just Faker alone.
