Faker and Family, Fans Threatened with Violence
Recently, after the group stage of LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 concluded, an incident involving Faker has stirred the LoL community. On a Korean forum, someone posted threats targeting Faker’s grandmother and even his fans or anyone around him. This immediately caused outrage in the LoL community, raising serious concerns about the safety of Faker, his family, and the legendary T1 player’s supporters.

Specifically, a total of 6 accounts posted 2 messages threatening to attack Faker’s family, particularly his grandmother, and the second post targeted anyone standing close to Faker, especially women. Those who follow LoL regularly know that Faker owes much of his upbringing to his grandmother, as his mother was absent early on and his father was often away for work.
Additionally, Faker’s grandmother is well-known to fans due to frequent camera focus on her during Faker’s matches. Many expressed worry that the attacker might be reckless. Of course, these posts were quickly removed, and according to Korean media, the police have begun tracing the IPs of the perpetrators. However, the investigation results have not been made public, leaving fans uneasy.

– Close contact between fans and players is truly a problem
– I worry for the safety of players and their families; players have bodyguards but their families do not
– Last year, there were threats against Gumayusi while jogging; why weren’t those perpetrators caught and punished severely?
– Hope everything turns out okay
– T1 needs to take stronger actions and collaborate with police to protect Faker

T1 Must Also Take Action for Faker
In this matter, T1 will certainly have to act soon. Faker is not only a player and captain of T1 but also the soul of the team and irreplaceable for T1, LCK, and LoL at this time. Therefore, not only must authorities intervene, but Faker’s organization must take firm measures to put an end to this situation permanently.
For those unaware, Faker has been threatened multiple times before. Someone even once broke into the T1 headquarters and checked in from inside the building. However, in all these cases, the identities or motives of the culprits have never been disclosed.
