In the match against Gen.G Esports on March 3rd (Vietnam time), Faker and his teammates convincingly won 2-0. Although Gen.G did not have their strongest lineup due to Marksman Ruler contracting Covid-19, it cannot be denied that T1 had a great match. Notably, Faker in game 1 and Zeus in game 2 were voted MVPs of both games.
Additionally, during the match against Gen.G, another monumental milestone was recorded for the “Chairman”. Specifically, Faker became the first player to reach 2500 kill points in the entire history of LCK. It should be noted that he is primarily a midlaner—a role that doesn’t always easily secure kills. Not to mention, the gameplay in LCK has had periods where team fights were not overly emphasized.

Among those who are happy about Faker’s achievement, perhaps no one is more so than Ambition—a former LCK legend. The ex-Samsung Galaxy star, while watching the match between T1 and Gen.G, upon learning that Faker had reached 2500 kill points, immediately stated on his stream: “What? Faker has reached 2500 kill points? What an honor for anyone who helped Faker achieve that milestone. But I am the most honored here. Wasn’t I the first kill? That will always be an honor, even though it was a long time ago.”
In Faker’s illustrious career, perhaps the two seniors, Ambition and Ryu, are the most frequently mentioned figures. Ambition was the one who “opened the books” for Faker’s milestone of 2500 kills to this day. In his debut match, Faker used Nidalee in the mid lane against Ambition’s Kha’Zix. And in a moment of oversight from one of the best midlaners in LCK at that time, Ambition was solo-killed by Faker right under the tower.
As for Ryu, he is associated with being solo-killed by Faker’s Zed in the match between SKT T1 and KT Bullets. If the solo kill against Ambition was the first kill of the “Demon King,” the solo kill against Ryu officially propelled Faker’s name to stardom in LCK. Ryu and his expression at that moment became a legendary meme in the global League of Legends community.

Now, both Ryu and Ambition have retired one after the other. But Faker is still there, fighting for the prestigious titles in the world of League of Legends. And surely, he will reach many more new milestones in the future on his quest for further glory in his already extraordinary career.
